Maniac Mansion II: Day of the Tentacle
Day of the Tentacle opens up with the story of Purple Tentacle, a creation of the mad scientist Dr. Fred Edison. Purple Tentacle has taken a gulp of toxic waste which has had the effect of turning him evil and giving him intentions to take over the world!This is where you come in. You must control Bernard, Hoagie and Laverne as they travel back in time using Dr. Fred’s newly invented time machine . You must stop the toxic waste being released before it mutates Purple Tentacle. The adventure takes you from 200 years in the past to 200 years in the future. During your journey, you meet Founding Fathers Thomas Jefferson, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin and George Washington, and even a talking horse, with plenty of laughs along the way!
The game is very well laid out and the control system is easy to use, the interaction between the characters between different time periods makes for interesting gameplay. The puzzles are well thought out and you’re given enough clues so you’re not left wandering around aimlessly but still have to use your brain.
On the whole Day of the Tentacle is a fantastic game, very funny throughout.
